Cindy Cooper, creator of Words of Choice; Stephanie MORIN of The Women's Liberation Birth Control Project in NYC about ongoing activities; and Anita Schillhorn van Veek and Diana Whitten, co-producers of the pro-choice film-in-progress, "Vessel," will show a trailer.

Bluestockings does not charge for events. Bluestockings says: "A donation jar will be circulated." No one is turned away for lack of funds.

Yesterday was Back Up Your Birth Control Day... a campaign dedicated to spreading the word about emergency contraception (EC), the safe and effective method of backing up your birth control. More than a hundred women’s health and medical organizations, students, and individuals organized across the nation for the seventh annual Back Up Your Birth Control Day of Action.

While the FDA decision that made EC available over-the-counter to women 18 and older was a victory, the high cost of EC over-the-counter, usually between $40-60 in pharmacies nationwide, is a continuing barrier to some women accessing EC.
