Job Description
Reports to the Executive Director of the Center for Applied Psychology.
Propels Answer (formerly the Network for Family Life Education) to brand/market leader in sexuality education nationally.
Develops and oversees the organization's strategic vision, overall fund development, marketing and communication strategies, relationship, cultivation, management, and administrative functions.
Develops and implements the strategic plan with Answer's national advisory board, and expands the success of the organization's initiatives.
Develops, solicits, and stewards a diverse funding base that includes foundations, government, and individual donors, as well as earned income, and serves as Answer's principle organizational spokesperson.
Directs and manages programmatic, evaluation, marketing/communications, financial, and administrative operations and processes.
Job Requirements
Requires a master's degree in a relevant field of education, social science, health services, or science, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of issues pertinent to child/adolescent development, behavior, sexuality, health, psychology, and/or education; and of marketing/communications, including current technologies; plus three years experience managing and growing the substantive, financial, business, and administrative aspects of programs that include success in securing substantial support, demonstrated diplomatic negotiating, consensus building, collaboration, the use of successful marketing strategies and tools, development of creative and innovative programs and strategies, and staff supervision.
Also requires excellent communication skills for complex and sensitive subject matter; experience articulating values, information, and compelling cases to multiple audiences, one-on-one through interviews, and through formal proposals and/or presentations; and the ability to think strategically and provide direction to staff.
Candidate must also understand the role of individuals, corporations, foundations, and government in contemporary philanthropy; handle complex organizational detail; and be computer literate. Candidate must have proven ability to interact effectively with various audiences, including media, teens, teachers and other youth-serving professionals, foundations, individual donors, parents, and policy makers and have an excellent track record in building and maintaining a strong team and positive work environment, modeling effective leadership, and promoting open communication.
