Please join NAPAWF's Anti-Trafficking Project Director Liezl Tomas Rebugio for a community briefing about the impact of human trafficking on Asian and Pacific Islander women and girls in the U.S. The briefing will highlight important findings from NAPAWF's Anti-Trafficking Activists Agenda and focus on the intersection of human trafficking and reproductive justice issues. Ms. Rebugio will be joined by Sapna Patel, Staff Attorney at the Urban Justice Center's Sex Workers Project, and Veronica Bayetti Flores, Policy Analyst at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health.

Each year, about 4 million American women become pregnant and decide to carry their pregnancies to term. Does the law see a woman differently once she becomes pregnant? While there are countless legal contexts in which a woman's pregnancy might change her legal position, this panel will focus on two that are particularly controversial. First, does her relationship with her employer change? Secondly, is she free choose or decline medical treatment in the same way she was before she became pregnant?
